Country Music Country music. Just saying that word ignites a train of thought to many people to think of the deep ole’ American South and cowboys. What causes people to begin to imagine those things? From the cowboys featuring in movies to the loud blaring music the hillbilly neighbor plays, country music has brought its way to people around the world. From the 1920’s to now Country music was one of the first genres in modern music and is still popular today in the United States. The history of country music is so uniquely characterized that through each part of history it changes massively. Observing, viewing, and hearing the history of country music is the only way to see how although other music genres seem to slowly fade away country music has still stayed strong since today. Country music was not the first name for this genre. In the 20th century when early country music was developed it was considered â€Å"hillbilly† music. This â€Å"hillbilly† music was derived from folk songs and popular songs from the English Scots and Irish settlers from the Appalachians and various regions in the South. The instruments used in early country music were the fiddle, guitar, the autoharp and a few others. The spark of country music to the public started in 1923 when country music was first recorded.
